The Swim Course

The ¼ mile swim will be the first leg of the triathlon. Athletes will enter the waters of Lake Chelan on the east side of Lakeside Park, and swim around the point, and exit on the west side of Lakeside Park. There will be lifeguards on shore and in the water, so relax, don’t worry, and enjoy a great, fun swim in one of the most beautiful lakes in the United States.

The Bicycle Course

Once athletes have completed their swim, they will enter the transition zone to gather their bikes and hit the course. It is good to note here that you must walk your bike while in the transition zone, which ensures athlete safety, and a relaxed atmosphere. Athletes will then embark on their scenic 12 mile ride along Hwy 97A, which is adjacent to the shoreline of Lake Chelan. They will then take a right turn on to S. Shore Drive which will take them out to the State Park Monument, at which they will find the bike turn around area. There will be water available here, as well as first aid. Along the course there will be course marshals, traffic control personnel, and police officers, all working to ensure a safe and fun riding environment. Enjoy your ride!

The Run Course

After completing the cycle portion of the event, runners will dismount their cycles as they head into the transition zone, drop off their gear, and lace up their runners and head out on the course. They will exit Lakeside Park from the east side, running along Terrace Avenue. They will take a slight turn to the right and run along Boulevard Avenue to the turn around point at the intersection of Webster and Woodin Avenue. There will be a water and aid station located at the turn around point. Course marshals, traffic control personnel and police officers will also be along the course to assure athlete safety.

Athletes are reminded that check – in is between 6am and 8am at Lakeside Park, and the race starts at 8:30 and 9am respectively. So have fun, enjoy your race and prepare to welcome a change to your life, for when you finished you will be a triathlete!!
